STEM Compassion Pet LEXIS |
Every child can make the impossible happen. I am blessed beyond measure to witness “the impossible” come to life as my K12 students design, analyze and engineer solutions to real needs inside the classroom and across the global community. Twenty years of teaching science, technology, engineering and math has given me endless opportunities to embed educational tools of technology across the K12 curriculum with some amazing results. Each year I choose with purpose new ways to "level-up" and create learning environments that engage all types of learners. The flipped classroom, printing 3D prosthetic hands, student-designed virtual worlds and peer-to-peer collaboration and research among students on different continents, and raising a compassion pet are just a few examples. I am a teacher and Director of STEM at North Valley Christian Academy. I have designed and built STEM labs for multiple K12 institutions and I travel nationally to speak about the value and importance of STEM, Project Based Learning and technology integration. I believe success in the classroom begins when students know they matter. I have learned to never underestimate the lasting impact of a smile, pat on the back, or word of affirmation in the unscripted moments of discovery, struggle and success.

people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” - Maya Angelou |
